Zanzibar

Next weekend me and Jenni are going to Zanzibar. We will go on the ferry on Saturday morning and leave Monday morning. Keyrn is coming on Monday so we will pick her up when we get back. It is Eid next weekend so we don't go back to school until the Wednesday. I only have 12 more days of school so I sort of wish that there was no Eid!

One of my friends at ISt said that he might be coming to Wellington because his dad works at the Swiss embassy. He would be coming in January so he would have to miss out on half of year 10. Some of the kids in year ten are so old. One of my friends is turning 17 this year!

Leopard Photo

I was so tempted to say that I took this picture!

Roman took this picture in Serengeti. I don't think that he had to use any zoom it was that close. It came up to our car and bumped its head against our tyre! It was the only leopard we saw on safari. There were about 30 cars all lined up to see it and it walked right up to our car.

This was definitly the shot of th safari and it is now my wallpaper at home and at school.

Beach Day

On Wednesday we had grade 10 bech day. We had to be at Slipway by 7 so we could get on a boat to go to Bongoyo Island. The boat that I went on was like a small pirate ship. It took about an hour to get to Bongoyo and when we were close some of us jumped off the boat. It was actually quite a long swim and the sea was rough. It was really easy to see underwater because there isn't much salt in the sea around Dar. When we got to the shore we played football. Everyone at IST is football mad - we play it at lunch, short break, and sometimes after school. They all support Chelsea, Man U, or Arsenal.
We made a volleyball net with the life guards rope thingy and some beach benches. After we swam back out to the boat to jump of it.

I have so much homework to do. Probably more than we would get for the whole term at high. I have to write my first essay in science aswell. The teacher isn't helping us but I'm lucky that Jenni's a English teacher!

One Month!

Wow! I just realised that I have been in Dar for exactly a month now. Time really does fly!

I have just got home from school at the end of my second week. We actually have 10 day cycles so it's the end of the first cycle.

On Wednesday I went to the clinic at school because I had a sore ear and the doctor said that I have an ear infection. It is in both ears but it is worse in my left one. When I fund out I was terrified that I wouldn't be able to go to beach day this Wednesday but I will be syringed ( I think they wash out my ear, but I thought they would stick a needle in it or something !) on Monday or Tuesday. The reason I got it was because I had been swimming for the last 10 days and water stay in them. I couln't hear much until today and Jenni was mouthing things and I thought she was actually saying something so I was asking her what she was saying.

I will try to post some more photos on Picasa but the Inernet is quite bad at the moment so I might not be able to.

First Week at IST

I started school at IST this week. It is a good school (except for wearing a uniform) and my class is cool.

I have to get up at 5:30 every morning so I can be at school at 6:55. School finishes at 1:45 though so it's quite good, but Jenni has to stay after school so we don't leave until around four. Classes are 80 minutes and we have four each day. I take PE, Maths, Science, Humanities, English, IT, and Music. I don't have to do a language so I get a free period every second day. Jenni isn't my English teacher but people tell me that she is a evil teacher.

Last night I went to the Yacht Club with my friends. It was fun and about half of year 10 was there. We went at about three and left at 10:30, and today I went to the goat races with them. It was really funny. It was a fundraiser for a charity I think.

After I went to David (one of my friends) and his twin sisters house. It was really big and fancy because his dad works at the Canadian Embassy. They have a pool so we went swimming and we went on the computer. David and Anne have English accents because they lived in London for four years but their dad has a really Canadian accent.

I will try to post a photo of my uniform here and on Picasa so remember to email if you wan =t the link.

School

School finally starts on Monday. I haven't been to school for five weeks so this is like an extra summer holiday! I have my uniform now but we still need to find some shorts for school. I am starting to miss NZ but I'm having a great time here aswell. We have Skype so if you have it please email your name to me. I will have 7 weeks at IST.
